#Cubs prospect Candelario hits RBI double in AFL Game

Cubs prospect Jeimer Candelario hit an RBI double in the seventh inning Saturday night for the East in the AFL Fall Stars Game, played at Talking Stick in Scottsdale. Candelario, 21, was batting .333 with three homers, six doubles and 11 RBIs in 12 games with the Mesa Solar Sox in the AFL. The West team beat the East, 8-3. Cubs prospect Corey Black had a tough outing, giving up three runs on three hits and one walk. After the game, Black posted on Twitter:

@CblackCHC: “I’ve had a rough time adjusting to the bullpen but you learn stuff everyday and do your best to incorporate what you’ve learned. #determined”

Willson Contreras was named to the East team but the Cubs catching prospect did not play because of a hamstring strain suffered Thursday. Contreras will be shut down for the rest of the AFL season.
