#Cubs 3, A’s 3 – tie

Jeimer Candelario had three hits, including a home run, but Hector Rondon gave up three runs in the ninth as the Cubs and Athletics played to a 3-3 tie on Sunday at HoHoKam Park in Mesa. Chicago starter Kyle Hendricks struck out five over four scoreless innings. Candelario is now 8-for-24 this spring with two home runs.

Cubs up next: Jake Arrieta will make his second spring start on Monday when the Cubs play host to the Padres at Sloan Park. Arrieta threw two strong innings in his first outing as he tunes up for Opening Day. Shane Victorino could return to the lineup. He’s been sidelined because of tightness in his calf. The game will begin at 1:05 p.m. Arizona time
and be broadcast on Cubs.com.

Aloha Folks- Another great ST start for Hendricks, very encouraging! Too bad about Rondon but I am sure he will work out his bugs/mechanics before the regular season starts. On another subject, I think it was jasper who mentioned he had the privilege of watching Candelario in the AFL this past Fall and that he was tremendous to watch at the plate! Well he is making his case for being one of the future 25 players! Mahalo!
