#Cubs lineup vs Rockies & more

Jon Lester gets the start Sunday in the Cubs’ series finale against the Rockies at Wrigley Field. Javier Baez will start at shortstop, giving Addison Russell a day off.  Here’s the lineup:

Fowler CF

Heyward RF

Zobrist 2B

Rizzo 1B

Bryant 3B

Soler LF

Baez SS

Ross C

Lester P

More Jake Arrieta notes: Arrieta extended his franchise record to 23-straight quality starts and now has thrown 48 2/3-consecutive scoreless innings at Wrigley Field dating to last season.

Elias reports that Arrieta became the first pitcher in Major League history to make six-straight regular-season home starts (either spanning seasons or within one season) without being charged a run.

Elias adds that Arrieta’s 48 2/3-consecutive scoreless innings at home are the longest for any pitcher at his home park since the Phillies Ray Herbert threw 54 straight scoreless innings at Connie Mack Stadium spanning 1962-63.
*Looking ahead to Cubs at Cardinals series, here are the pitching matchups:

Monday: RHP John Lackey (2-0, 5.68) vs. RHP Mike Leake (0-1, 6.97)
Tuesday: RHP Jason Hammel (1-0, 0.75) vs. LHP Jaime Garcia (1-0, 2.40)
Wednesday: RHP Kyle Hendricks (1-1, 2.84) vs. RHP Carlos Martinez (2-0, 3.46)

Aloha Folks- this series in St. Louis becomes a good test for this team after losing its series against the pesky Rockies. Cardinals are only 2 games behind so hopefully Lackey gets things started in his old ballpark. Team needs this series as a confidence builder. Go Cubbies! Mahalo!

Yes, k.g. I`ve heard it said tonight`s game will be on ESPN. The bats are overdue to come alive, I would think. I checked the expected weather conditions in St. Louis, and concluded there is little likelihood the contest will be rained-out, although I suppose showers are possible in the environs.
