Sunday’s games

Albert Almora notched his seventh three-hit game of the season in Iowa’s 8-1 loss to Tacoma. Dan Vogelbach had two hits. Drew Rucinski took the loss, giving up five runs over three innings.

Tennessee was swept in a doubleheader by Biloxi, losing 5-0 in the first game and then 6-5 in the night cap. Paul Blackburn did not give up a run over six innings in the first game. Corey Black struck out five in two innings of relief. Jeimer Candelario had two hits in the second game and Bijan Rademacher drove in two runs.

Jeffrey Baez had two hits including a solo home run and finished with two RBI in Myrtle Beach’s7-4 loss to Lynchburg. Jonathan Martinez gave up one run over 6 1/3 innings, striking out six.

Preston Morrison gave up one run over five innings in South Bend’s 6-4 win over Lake County. Eloy Jimenez, Eddy Martinez and Donnie Dewees each homered. Jimenez has hit safely in nine straight games.

I’m sure wondering as are many Cub fans, when are the Cubs going to bring Albert Almora up and give him a chance to show what he can do in the big leagues?
