Monday’s games

Willson Contreras hit a solo home run, his fourth, in Iowa’s 6-1 loss to El Paso. Stephen Fife struck out five over four scoreless innings. Arismendy Alcantara had two hits.

Billy McKinney hit a walk-off single in the 12th to lift Tennessee to a 3-2 victory over Biloxi. Chesny Young had three hits and scored two runs and Jeimer Candelario had three hits and one RBI. Brad Markey started and gave up two runs over six innings.

Zach Hedges gave up one run over seven innings in Myrtle Beach’s 3-1 win over Lynchburg. Rashad Crawford had two hits, including a solo home run and a triple. Tommy Thorpe picked up the save, picking two innings.

Carson Sands gave up three runs over seven innings in South bend’s 6-3 win over Lake County. Tyler Alamo hit a two-run homer in the sixth. Eloy Jimenez had three hits, including a double, and one RBI. He was named Midwest League Player of the Week for May 16-22. Sands has won his last four starts, going 4-0 with a 1.57 ERA.
