#Cubs Schwarber making progress

Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber, who tore both the ACL and LCL in his left knee in the Cubs’ third game of the season April 7 in Arizona, was examined in Dallas Tuesday and is making progress in his rehab.

“The reports are really good and he’s progressing nicely,” Cubs GM Jed Hoyer said Wednesday. “He’s gone from two crutches to one crutch. Hopefully, some of his celebrations in the dugout will be less awkward.”

Schwarber had the surgery in Dallas, and this was the first time he saw the doctors since then.

“The doctors were happy at what they saw,” Hoyer said.

Aloha Carrie, thanks for this update on Schwarber! Good news on his progress, when do the doctors say he can start a more rigorous rehab? I am fascinated by this as I had some work done on my knee but I did not tear my ACL. I do know from my doctor that it is amazing what they can do today on our knees opposed to just 25-30yrs ago. Gunbatene Schwarber-san! Mahalo!

I concur with k.g. here. Can`t get enough news on Kyle`s progress. Love this guy. One has to admire his approach and make-up. Is a gamer. I once thought he had to succeed as a catcher, but no longer am of that mind. It`s his bat we need to embrace. It`s okay that he functions as a receiver occasionally, but it`s principally as an outfielder that we`ll see him perform, and he will be more than adequate at that position. Did I mention we`ll covet Kyle`s offense for many years to come? This man can rake. Make no mistake.
