Ride Across America

Quick personal note: My brother-in-law is part of a four-person team competing in RAAM (Ride Across America) this week. They started in Oceanside, CA, on Saturday, and the finish line is in Anapolis, MD.

As of this morning, they’ve covered more than 1700 miles and have passed the halfway point. at 9:30 a.m. CT, they were approaching the check point at Yates Center, MO. He’s a Cubs fan — as are most of the people on his team — so if you see some bike riders passing through, please cheer them on. Their checkpoints are Jefferson City, MO, then Washington, MO, then West Alton, MO, and en route to Greenville, IL, and then Effingham, IL, today. Go Team 408!

Jefferson City to Effingham in one day? Dang, they’re moving!

They’ve topped 2200 miles so far, and reached Effingham, IL, this morn. It’s an amazing ride

Since they are all Cub’s fans, how about giving them some game tickets in celebration of their achievement! πŸ˜€

I am a Cubs fan, anyone want to know what my family is doing this week? Brother, sister, Sister in laws, 1st, 2nd, 3rd cousins, son daughter, son in law, daughter in law, uncles, Aunts?
I would tell you about my parents, but they are gone now as well as grandparents, but I am sure they are keeping up with everyone.
So if anyone wants updates, just ask Carrie for my e-mail.
Better yet, maybe I could write Carrie with their goings on and she could write an article?

It’s my blog, Jasper

Carrie, Let us know where they end up tonight! I pull the map up to follow their route. Mat B is right – they are moving FAST! Love it! πŸ˜€

They just entered West Virginia as of 12 pm ET on Friday, and if all goes well, hope to finish the race Saturday in Anapolis, MD

Annapolis is a great final destination. I spent happy visits there with a relative who attended the Naval Academy. I hope you can post a picture of the “bike warriors” at the finish line! πŸ˜€πŸ€

Oh my gosh – Watching the news – AWFUL flooding in West Virginia! Are they okay?

All is well. Thanks for asking
