Iowa lost, 11-5, to Las Vegas. Pierce Johnson gave up six runs over 4 1/3 innings. Joe Nathan faced two batters and walked one in his ninth rehab appearance. Munenori Kawasaki had two hits and two RBI. Logan Watkins had two hits and scored two runs.
Tennessee lost, 5-4, to Montgomery in 10 innings. Jen-Ho Tseng gave up two runs over six innings. Victor Caratini hit a two-run homer in the eighth. Bijan Rademacher had three hits and one RBI.
Myrtle Beach beat Winston-Salem, 12-10, in 12 innings. Jake Stinnett gave up five earned runs over 5 1/3 innings. Gleyber Torres had two hits and three walks, and both of his hits were doubles. Rashad Crawford had three hits, including a triple.
South Bend beat Kane County, 5-2. Adbert Alzolay gave up two runs over six innings for the win. Donnie Dewees had two hits and two RBI.
Eugene beat Tri City, 4-3. D.J. Wilson hit a three-run double. Jesus Castillo gave up two runs over four innings.
Mesa beat the D-backs, 9-3. Pablo Ochoa gave up one unearned run over five innings. Luis Ayala had two hits, including a triple, and three RBI. Duncan Robinson, the Cubs’ ninth-round pick out of Dartmouth, made his pro debut and gave up two hits and struck out a batter in one inning. Matt Swarmer, a 19th round pick, also made his debut and gave up one hit, walked a batter and struck out one in one inning.
