#Cubs Fowler, Soler play at Iowa

Dexter Fowler was a combined 1-for-5 with a double and a walk in two games with Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday night as part of his rehab assignment. He was expected to join the Cubs on Friday in Milwaukee.

Fowler started in center field in the first game and went 0-for-3 and struck out twice. He was the designated hitter in the second game and went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk and scored two runs in Iowa’s 6-3 win over Salt Lake.

“I’m ready to go,” Fowler told the Des Moines Register. “It’s been four weeks. It’s about time.”

Fowler was expected to rejoin the Cubs on Friday in Milwaukee.

“I’m just here to see pitches,” Fowler said of his rehab assignment at Iowa. “I think that’s the main thing. I hadn’t seen pitches in four weeks. I’m just trying to do that and take some [at-bats].”

Jorge Soler started in left in the first game and went 0-for-3, striking out three times. Joe Nathan entered the first game in the seventh and walked the bases loaded. He was charged with two runs in one-third of an inning. Iowa lost the first game, 5-0.

Aloha Mark, yes I concur with you. I could see Soler as part of a package to get more pitching. We will know soon enough. Take care. Mahalo.
