Saturday’s games

Iowa lost both games of a doubleheader against Memphis. Brian Matusz threw 4 1/3 shutout innings in the first game. John Andreoli and Mark Zagunis each had three hits. Tim Federowicz had two hits and two RBI. Trevor Cahill started the second game, and gave up two earned runs on nine hits over four innings. Andreoli had three more hits in the nightcap.

Brad Markey gave up one run over five innings in Tennessee’s 3-0 loss to Memphis. Chris Coghlan was 1-for-3 with a double and Jorge Soler went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in their rehab outings. Trey Martin had two hits.

James Pugliese gave up five hits over five scoreless innings in Myrtle Beach’s 9-0 win over Wilmington. David Bote and Ian Rice both hit two-run homers. Rice finished with three RBI. Yasiel Balaguert and Gleyber Torres each had two hits. Daniel Lewis threw two scoreless innings in relief.

South Bend’s game vs. Peoria was postponed because of rain.The teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader on Monday.

Eugene beat Vancouver, 11-4. Michael Knighton gave up three hits over four innings. Tyler Payne hit a three-run homer and Vimael Machin had two hits and two RBI. Duncan Robinson picked up his first win, giving up two runs on three hits over two innings of relief.

Mesa beat the White Sox, 7-4. Jose Gonzalez had two hits and four RBI. Gustavo Polanco had three hits and one RBI. Tyson Miller picked up the win in relief, pitching three innings.
