Albert Almora Jr. hit a two-run homer and drove in three runs in Iowa’s 6-4 loss to Omaha. Almora is 9-for-28 since returning to Iowa. Jordan Pries took the loss, giving up five runs over 3 2/3 innings. Tim Federowicz had two hits. Pierce Johnson struck out four over 2 1/3 innings in his second relief appearance.
Zach Hedges gave up one earned run over five innings in Tennessee’s 9-1 loss to Chattanooga. Jorge Soler went 1-for-3 with a walk and scored a run. He has seven walks over six rehab games. Bijan Rademacher drove in a run.
Myrtle Beach set season highs in hits (19) and runs scored in a 15-4 win over Salem. Jonathan Martinez gave up two runs over six innings for the win. Jesse Hodges had three hits, including a two-run homer. Donnie Dewees went 4-for-5 with two RBI. David Bote had three hits and two RBI.
South Bend lost, 2-1, to Great Lakes. Oscar De La Cruz struck out seven and gave up two hits over 4 2/3 innings in his first start for South Bend. Eloy Jimenez had three hits and one RBI. Alberto Mineo had two hits.
Eugene lost, 5-3, to Boise. Pedro Silverio gave up three earned runs over two innings. Tyler Peitzmeier gave up one hit over four scoreless innings in relief. Robert Garcia had three hits and two RBI.
Mesa gave up 13 hits in a 10-4 loss to the Angels. Jhonny Bethencourt had two hits and scored a run.
