Could Anthony`s .188 career average versus MadBum be a factor as to why he`s sitting today? Bryant, Russell, and Baez are a combined 0-15 when facing the southpaw from North Carolina. There is good reason Zo is playing today. He`s 6 for 9 in his ab`s against MadBum.

Aloha jhosk- good point about Rizzo. There is a good chance if the Cubs stay on this path, end with the best record that they could meet up the Giants in the playoffs. So, they have to figure out Madbum. Every game is important because now is the time to hone in on those areas to which I believe Maddon has been trying out different scenarios for this purpose. I have to tell you, I was so intent/serious in keeping my “score-card” correct yesterday, that I had forgot come the 7th inning when Pence hit his dinger that that was the end of Lester’s no-no. I said to myself who is so diligent, where have you been! Anyhow. I hope the team starters can give more innings like Lester did yesterday as it helps the bp. Lester and Hendricks have really stabilized the rotation this year, I hope Lackey can come back like the beginning of the year, Hammel as strong his last outing. We need to see the 2015 Arrieta again. Take care now. Mahalo!

Has Maddon ever considered Russell to hit in the 4 slot? Seems like a better spot for s clutch RBI guy.

Aloha Lauren, someone heard you, Addison was in #4 after Soler was taken out. Too many strikeouts today, 12 total which shows impatience at the plate. Hopefully tomorrow the team is more relaxed and aware at the plate. Mahalo!

Lost opportunities today in another close game.. Come back and get game four tomorrow! Go Cubs!

Aloha Tom, very true and not one of Arrieta’s best games but they had chances offensively and these are games that you “practice” for. Also have to give MadBum credit, he has the Cubs number right now. So I hope like you team picks up win tomorrow not only for this series win but for the regular season as well. Take care now! Mahalo!
