Friday’s games

Iowa beat Colorado Springs, 3-2. Juan Perez hit a two-run homer in the second. Jeimer Candelario singled and drew two walks and Albert Almora Jr. hit a double and finished with one RBI.

Tennessee lost, 10-5, to Montgomery. Ian Happ had three hits, including two home runs, and three RBI and Ben Carhart added a solo home run. Gioskar Amaya had two hits and a walk.

Myrtle Beach won, 2-1. Duane Underwood Jr. started and gave up one run over 4 2/3 innings. Yasiel Balaguert hit a triple. Underwood, who will play in the Arizona Fall League, has a 1.89 ERA in his last five games, striking out 16 in 14 1/3 innings combined.

South Bend lost, 3-0, to West Michigan. Adbert Alzolay gave up three hits over five scoreless innings. Matt Rose had three hits and P.J. Higgins had two hits and stole a base.

Eugene won its franchise-best 54th game, a 9-3 win. Bryan Hudson gave up two hits over five innings, striking out seven. Tyler Payne drove in three runs. D.J. Wilson had three hits and one RBI.

Have y`all noticed that the Mets have moved within one game of the Redbirds for the second wild card spot? I`d like to see the Cubs plays the Mets in the postseason for several reasons, only one of which is payback.
