#Cubs Minor League report
Iowa ended its season with a 12-3 win over Colorado Springs. The I-Cubs finished 67-76. Jordan Pries gave up three runs over six innings. Tim Federowicz had three hits, including a double, and two RBI. Juan Perez had three hits, including a triple, and three RBI. Jeimer Candelario had two hits and two RBI. He finished the season batting .333.
Tennessee finished its season with a 6-2 loss to Montgomery to close at 58-81. Jonathan Martinez gave up four earned runs over seven innings, striking out seven. Chesny Young clinched the Southern League batting title with a .303 average. He is the second straight Smokies player to do so after Willson Contreras won the title last year. Kelly Dugan had two hits and one RBI.
Myrtle Beach lost, 3-1, to Potomac. The Pelicans begin the best-of-three Southern Division Championship Series on Wednesday vs. Salem. In Monday’s game, Andrew Ely reached twice with a single and a walk, and drove in the only run.
South Bend closed the regular season with a 3-0 victory and finished 84-55. The Cubs will open a best-of-three quarterfinal series at West Michigan on Wednesday. In Monday’s game, Ryan Kellogg gave up five hits over six innings and struck out six. Connor Myers hit a solo home run. Tyler Alamo drove in a run.
Eugene lost 6-1 to Hillsboro to close the regular season. The Emeralds open the Northwest League playoffs on Wednesday at Hillsboro. On Monday, Dylan Cease struck out 10 and gave up one hit over five innings.
