Myrtle Beach clinched a trip to the Mills Cup Championship with a 2-1 victory over Salem. Myrtle Beach now faces Lynchburg in the best of three finals. Duane Underwood started on Friday, and gave up one run over five innings. Daniel Spingola delivered a pinch-hit RBI single in the seventh to tie the game. Donnie Dewees scored the game-winner on a wild pitch in the eighth. David Bote was 2-for-2 with a double. Erick Leal will start vs. Lynchburg on Saturday.

South Bend’s game vs. West Michigan was suspended because of rain in the top of the eighth and the game tied at 3. The two teams will resume play at 4:05 p.m. ET on Saturday. That series is tied at one win apiece.

Eugene defeated two-time defending champion Hillsboro, 2-1, to advance to the best of three finals against Everett, which open Sunday. On Friday, Erling Moreno gave up one run over five innings and struck out seven for the win. Kevonte Mitchell had two hits, both doubles. Wladimir Galindo drove in both runs on a sacrifice fly and a ground out.
