8/4 Lineup & roster move
Infielder Andres Blanco was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left calf to make room on the 25-man roster for lefty Tom Gorzelanny, who will start Tuesday, weather permitting. It's clearing up at Great American Ball Park, and they may even start on time.
Blanco tweaked his calf Saturday in Florida. The Cubs could be getting reinforcements for the bench with the addition of infielder Aaron Miles, who could join the team as early as Wednesday. He's been playing for Triple-A Iowa, rehabbing from a hyperextended right elbow.
As for Geovany Soto, he won't join the big league team until Friday in Colorado. The Cubs want him to play three games for Double-A Tennessee. He went 1-for-2 Monday.
Milton Bradley was getting a breather Tuesday, so Jake Fox was in right.

Who is this Aaron Miles that you speak of - all kidding aside just leave him at AAA he stinks. Fox should be playing everyday, rotate him in different positions, it will maximize his playing time while resting guys. Good to hear Soto will be back Friday cause Hill's offense is non helping. No doubt that this injury to Blanco is made up just like Pattons groin injury.

I don't think there was too much expected from Hill offensively even when he is well rested, but he has performed admirably and does come up with an occassional hit and rbi, I think last night he was 2 for 4 with two rbi??
But having Soto back can do nothing but help, but he too needs to regain some offense skills as that is the only reason he starts ahead of Hill. As for Bradley, give him a "breather" (from ALL his hard work and herculean efforts in right field?? Yeah, right!!) for the rest of the season and contract for that matter in fact Hendry deserves an indefinate "breather" from all the BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS he put into the Soriano and Bradley negotiations...whew! I can't imagine if we had a different GM at the time...just the though of NOT having such defensively talented corner outfielders with such disciplned hitting approaches and blazing speed on the bases FOR YEARS TO COME...who knows, we might be 6 games in first place..Hendry, please take abreather with Bradley!!! Fox/Hoffpauir in right until some better impact player can be acquired.
