Brooks Raley gave up two runs over seven innings and struck out seven in Iowa’s 2-0 loss to Round Rock on Thursday. Brett Jackson had a hit and stolen base, and was batting .258 for the season.
Tennessee lost, 6-3, Thursday to Chattanooga. Christian Villanueva hit a RBI double in the second, and scored on a single by Jair Fernandez in the fourth. Alberto Cabrera took the loss, giving up four runs on eight hits, walking two and striking out five over six innings. The two teams will play the third game of their five-game series on Friday at Smokies Park. Eric Jokisch gets the start for Tennessee.
Daytona pitchers served up 15 hits, including four home runs, in a 12-2 loss to Clearwater. Starling Peralta gave up six of those runs over six innings. Stephen Bruno, Chad Noble, Dustin Geiger and Taiwan Easterling each had two hits for Daytona.
Kane County’s game against Wisconsin was postponed because of rain. The two teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader Friday.

Chris Rusin struck out seven and gave up three runs over seven innings but took the loss in Iowa’s 4-3 loss to Oklahoma City on Sunday in the last home game of the season. James Adduci had two hits, and Blake Lalli was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. It was Rusin’s 11th quality start. The Iowa Cubs travel to Nashville Monday.
Jae-Hoon Ha hit a RBI triple in the eighth to help Tennessee beat Mobile, 4-3. Ha was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, and one RBIs. Eric Jokisch posted a quality start, giving up three runs over seven innings. Trey McNutt got the win, throwing two innings in relief.
Daytona was off Sunday, and plays host to Clearwater on Monday.
Jeffry Antigua threw seven shutout innings in Peoria’s 10-3 win over Wisconsin. Jacob Rogers hit his first home run, Jorge Soler had two hits and two RBIs, and Dustin Geiger had three hits and three RBIs. Antigua struck out seven and did not walk a batter. He’s 2-2 with a 1.53 ERA.
Jeimer Candelario and Darien Martin each had two hits in Boise’s 5-1 loss to Vancouver. Felix Pena took the loss, giving up four runs over 4 1/3 innings.
Duane Underwood gave up two hits over 2 1/3 scoreless innings in Mesa’s 5-2 win over the Athletics. Ben Carhart and Trevor Gretzky each had three hits. Juan Paniagua picked up the win in relief.

Adrian Cardenas hit his third home run in Iowa’s 5-3 win over Oklahoma City on Friday. Cardenas connected in the eighth, and finished with two RBIs. Tony Campana was 2-for-4 with a triple and one RBI. Jay Jackson picked up the win in relief.
Junior Lake, Rubi Silva and Matt Szczur each homered in Tennessee’s 11-5 win over Mobile. Dallas Beeler picked up the win, giving up five runs over five innings. Lake’s homer was his ninth and he’s now batting .280. He connected in the third for a three-run blast and Silva followed with his first of the year.
Elieser Bonne hit a three-run homer in the fifth to help Daytona beat Tampa, 4-3, in the first game of a doubleheader. Christian Villanueva hit a solo shot in the sixth to back Kyle Hendricks, who gave up two runs over five innings. In the second game, Tampa beat Daytona, 11-5, collecting eight runs off starter Matt Loosen in 3 1/3 innings. Villanueva was 2-for-3 with a double.
Dustin Geiger hit his 17th home run but it wasn’t enough as Peoria lost, 8-2, to Beloit. Geiger finished with two hits and two RBIs. Chadd Krist had two hits and Austin Reed pitched one inning of scoreless relief.
Tayler Scott gave up five runs over five innings in Boise’s 7-6 loss to Vancouver. Marco Hernandez had three hits.

Greg Rohan hit a three-run home run in the first to help beat Memphis, 6-3, on Sunday. Ryan Searle picked up the win, pitching four innings of one-hit relief.
Tennessee scored four runs in the sixth to beat Chattanooga, 6-5. Chad Noble had two RBIs and Michael Burgess extended his hitting streak to five games with a hit. Tony Zych picked up the win in relief.
Daytona’s home doubleheader against Tampa was rained out. No word on makeup.
Dustin Geiger hit his 16th home run to help Peoria beat Wisconsin, 4-3. Yao-Lin Wang struck out seven over 6 1/3 innings for the win. Pin-Chieh Chen had two hits and a stolen base.
Tayler Scott gave up one run over five innings in Boise’s 4-3 loss to Yakima. Scott did not get a decision and is 5-1 with a 1.88 ERA. Xavier Batista hit a RBI double.
Mesa was off on Sunday and faces the Padres on Monday.

Shawon Dunston Jr. went 3-for-4, including a two-run home run in the third, in Mesa’s 9-1 win Thursday night over the Reds. Dunston also hit a RBI single in the fourth.
Dustin Geiger and Timothy Saunders each had two hits to help Peoria out-hit Burlington, 7-3, but the Chiefs went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position and stranded eight in a 4-0 loss.
Javier Baez was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, hitting his first home run for Daytona in a 7-6 loss to Lakeland. Baez also hit a double. Robert Whitenack started, and gave up one run on four hits and three walks over four innings. Lakeland won on a walk off two-run single by James Robbins.
Justin Bour hit a three-run home run to power Tennessee to a 4-3 win over Birmingham. Bour was batting .297. Tony Zych picked up the win in relief of Eric Jokisch, and Frank Batista picked up his 22nd save, walking one and striking out one in 1 2/3 innings.
Alfredo Amezaga was 4-for-5 and Tony Campana, Blake Lalli, Diory Hernandez and Matt Tolbert each had two hits in Iowa’s 7-6 loss to Tucson. The Iowa Cubs out-hit Tucson, 14-11 in the loss. Seth McClung started, and gave up seven runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks over 3 1/3 innings.

Ryan Rowland-Smith gave up one run on two hits over six innings but it wasn’t enough as Iowa lost, 5-1, to Reno on Wednesday. Mike Jacobs hit a three-run homer in the 10th for the game winner. Blake Parker threw one inning in relief.

Paul Hoilman and Tim Saunders each homered in Peoria’s 14-inning, 9-8 loss to Burlington. Zeke DeVoss had three hits, Hoilman had two RBIs, and Saunders reached base four times. Dustin Geiger had two hits and three RBIs.
Rock Shoulders hit a fifth inning grand slam, his seventh home run of the season, to help Boise beat Everett, 8-6. Jose Arias gave up three runs over five innings and struck out six for the win. Dan Vogelbach hit his fourth home run and drove in two.
Shawon Dunston had two hits, including a triple, and one RBIs in Mesa’s 5-2 win over the Dodgers. Albert Almora extended his hitting streak to six games and also drove in a run.

* Right-hander Jake Brigham was placed on Tennessee’s disabled list. Brigham, acquired from the Rangers in the Geovany Soto deal, has given up eight earned runs over 3 2/3 innings in two starts for the Smokies.
* The Peoria Chiefs have added Cuban outfielder Jorge Soler to the roster from the Cubs’ Arizona Rookie League team. Soler will likely join the Chiefs on Friday.

Greg Rohan had three hits, including two home runs, in his first game for Triple-A Iowa, but it wasn’t enough as they lost, 11-6, to Colorado Springs on Wednesday. Ty’Relle Harris gave up four earned runs on nine hits over four innings and took the loss. Josh Vitters also homered, and was batting .296 overall. Brett Jackson was a home run shy of the cycle, going 3-for-5.
Tennessee defeated Pensacola, 4-2, in the completion of Tuesday’s suspended game. Nate Samson hit his second home run. In the second game, Justin Bour hit a walkoff home run in a 1-0 victory. Dallas Beeler gave up one hit over five scoreless innings.
Lendy Castillo gave up one unearned run on three hits over four innings in Daytona’s 2-1 win over Ft. Myers. Castillo, the Cubs’ Rule 5 Draft pick, is rehabbing from a groin injury.
Dustin Geiger tied a franchise record with eight RBIs in Peoria’s 11-10 win over Quad Cities. Geiger had three hits, including two home runs, and a double. It was his second two-homer game of the season. Javier Baez had two hits and sored two runs. Austin Reed picked up his first save.
Stephen Bruno and Xavier Batista bothhomered in Boise’s 14-10 win over Spokane. Boise pitcher Ian Dickson was named Northwest League Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 and striking out eight while giving up four hits over 11 scoreless innings.
Albert Almora had three hits and Jorge Soler had two in Mesa’s 4-0 win over the Indians in the first game of a doubleheader. In the second game, Mesa scored four runs in the sixth to post a 7-2 win. Trevor Gretzky reached base three times and drove in a run.

Rodrigo Lopez gave up one earned run over five innings in Iowa’s 6-3, 10-inning loss Sunday to New Orleans. Rob Brantley hit a walkoff three-run homer for the win. Welington Castillo forced extra innings with a game-tying two-run homer in the seventh.
Tennessee had Sunday off, and returns to action Monday against Pensacola with a doubleheader.
Matt Loosen improved to 10-3 with a victory in Daytona’s 12-7 win over Bradenton. Loosen gave up four earned runs over five innings and now has a 3.03 ERA. Rafael Lopez hit his second homer, Roni Torreyes had three hits and two RBIs and Elieser Bonne had three hits and one RBIs.
Dustin Geiger hit his 11th home run in Peoria’s 10-6 victory over Beloit. Geiger drove in four runs, also hitting a double. Pin-Chieh Chen was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Javier Baez drove in two runs.
Ian Dickson threw five shutout innings in Boise’s 1-0 win over Tri-City. Dickson struck out four. Gioskar Amaya hit a solo home run, his fifth. Rock Shoulders had two hits. Dickson has not given up a run in his last two starts.
Dillon Maples made his first start in Mesa’s 7-3 loss to the Reds. Jorge Soler hit a double and scored two runs and Trevor Gretzky had his second two-hit game. Gretzky also stole a base.

Chris Rusin gave up six runs on eight hits over five innings in Iowa’s 10-7 loss to New Orleans. The Zephyrs won on a walkoff three-run homer by Jerry Sands. Brett Jackson hit a leadoff home run for Iowa, his 13th of the season. Brian Esposito had three hits and scored two runs.
Dae-Eun Rhee gave up three runs, two earned, on two hits over six innings in Tennessee’s 4-1 loss to Chattanooga. Jae-Hoon Ha extended his hitting streak to five games, and Justin Bour had a two-hit game and drove in the Smokies only run.
Robert Whitenack failed to retire a batter, giving up five earned runs on five hits and two walks in the first inning in Daytona’s 12-8 loss to Jupiter. Jupiter scored six runs in the first. Rubi Silva had four hits, including a triple, and two RBI. Elieser Bonne had three hits.
Dustin Geiger hit his ninth home run and Taiwan Easterling hit his fourth in Peoria’s 9-6 win over Western Michigan. Javier Baez extended his hitting streak to 15 games, and Geiger and Easterling each finished with two hits.
Rock Shoulders went 4-for-4, including his fifth home run, and drove in two runs in Boise’s 7-2 loss to Eugene. Shoulders was batting .273 and now has 17 RBIs.
Jorge Soler was scheduled to start in the outfield Saturday for the Cubs’ Mesa Rookie League team in his second pro game.

Tayler Scott threw six shutout innings in Boise’s 4-0 win over Yakima. Jeimer Candelario had three hits and one RBIs. Scott struck out four, and is now 1-1 with a 1.61 ERA.
