Friday’s games
Iowa scored six runs in the second inning in a 7–5 win over Omaha. Jeimer Candelario and Chris Dominguez each homered. David Rollins gave up two hits over three innings in his first start. Matt Carasiti picked up his first save.

Tennessee lost, 6–1, to Chattanooga. Trevor Clifton gave up six runs over 5 2/3 innings, while striking out seven. Jason Vosler scored the Smokies’ only run. He hit a double.

Duncan Robinson gave up two earned runs over four innings in his Myrtle Beach debut, and took the loss. Eddy Martinez hit a two-run homer. Bryant Flete and Jesse Hodges each had two hits.

Manuel Rondon gave up three runs over 5 2/3 innings in South Bend’s 11–4 win over Dayton. Isaac Paredes had two hits, both home runs, and finished with four RBI. Vimael Machin had three hits, including a three-run homer.

Eugene beat Tri-City, 5–2. Alonso Garcia gave up three hits over five scoreless innings. He has a 1.80 ERA in his last three starts. Gustavo Polanco had two hits, including a triple, and one RBI.

Mesa was off on Friday and faces the Padres on Saturday.
